Our Approach

Our mission at SolutionsForYou, Inc. Organizing Services is to provide confidential and empathetic advice to our clients, identify their individual organizing challenges, and attain and maintain organization by working with them to create effortless solutions and sustainable systems that will increase their productivity, reduce stress, and lead to more control over their surroundings.

“We want our clients to control their surroundings, instead of their surroundings controlling them.”

Organizational systems are personal and individual. No two people have the same organizing needs or style. We provide a personal approach to organizing - providing effortless organizing SolutionsForYou to meet all of your organizing needs.

What is unique about our approach is we practice and teach you our successfully proven 5 Steps to Organizing® process that will lead you to taking control over your surroundings... not your surroundings controlling you! Additionally - and more importantly, we truly care about our clients. We feel successful when they are successful. That is why Phase 4 of our approach is essential. Our ultimate goal is to transfer our organizing skills and knowledge to our clients so they can maintain the systems and solutions we implement together.

Our approach to attaining and maintaining organization with our clients is accomplished over four phases, giving them options to work with us, on their own with assignments from us, or we can organize the space(s) for them.

Phase 1 - Complete your organizing needs assessment online - Complimentary

  • You provide digital “before” photographs of the areas you want help organizing.
  • You will be contacted within 12 hours or less to answer any questions you have about our approach and we will provide you with information about our organizing process.
  • We will then move to Phase 2 to begin your organizing transformation.

Phase 2 - On-site Initial Consultation and Organizing Plan

  • Involves a one hour on-site visit to define your organizing goals and vision.

Phase 3 - Implementation of the Organizing Plan of Action

During our second meeting we will begin the organizing process onsite by following the Organizing Plan of Action. We will make every effort to work within your budget by offering creative implementation approaches. These might include any of the following:

  1. Hands-on Organizing and Side-by-Side Assistance Approach to help you group and reduce your clutter following our 5 Steps to Organizing® process, make decisions, assign homes for your possessions and create organizing solutions and sustainable systems you can maintain. This approach works well if you need advice on what to keep and what to let go of, or how long to keep something and also if you need someone to keep you focused on the organizing process and your goals.

  2. FreedomFiler™ Implementation – I am a Certified FreedomFiler™ Consultant. I can come into your home or business, set up the FreedomFiler™ system for you (or sell you a pre-assembled system) and teach you how to use this low-maintenance self-purging filing system. I will go through your papers with you, helping you decide what you need to keep and what is safe to recycle or shred, then teach you exactly where it should be filed in the FreedomFiler™ system.

  3. Clean Sweep Team Organizing Approach - If your clutter has accumulated to an overwhelming level, or if you have time constraints (such as an upcoming event) that make quick decluttering a priority, we can put together a team of highly qualified organizers to work with you to complete the job in a shorter period of time than working one-on-one with you. Overall, this approach doesn’t cost you more, if you’re able to make decisions quickly without feeling too overwhelmed, and it can provide much faster results. It’s important to understand that excessive clutter is often a symptom of a problem, not the problem itself. If the root problem isn’t addressed (whether it’s a tendency to over-accumulate stuff, an extreme attachment to your things, or a combination of both), a clean-sweep will be only a temporary solution. As the Immediate Past President of NAPO Oregon, Anne is acquainted with most of the Portland Professional Organizers and their areas of specialty. She can put together a friendly, efficient, nonjudgmental, specialized, and, of course, well-organized team to complete your organizing project in short order.

  4. Coach Approach– Anne has trained with the organizing industry’s highly sought after organizer-coach, Denslow Brown. A graduate of Denslow’s Coach Approach for Organizers, Anne has been taught specifically how to help organizing clients through coaching. Her coursework emphasized helping clients with ADD get organized through coaching. Anne will coach you through the Organizing Plan of Action to accomplish your organizing goals one at a time helping you find the answers to your organizing questions and solutions to your problems within yourself.  She’ll guide you to possible solutions to your organizing goals and through regular contact, she’ll give you the accountability that can be crucial for your success. The Organizing Plan of Action will provide you with assignments to complete on your own or between our coaching and hands-on sessions.  We offer a coaching structure that includes three pre-paid 30 minute sessions per month. We have found that three sessions a month provide adequate consistency to keep the momentum and learning moving forward at a solid pace. In addition, making three sessions is pretty easily achieved in a month; the week off provides convenient flexibility or it can be a week where we work hands-on together on your organizing projects.

  5. Budget-wise Approach - Hands-on organizing and side-by-side assistance spread out over several weeks and/or provide you with assignments to complete between our sessions to work within your cash flow and budget.

  6. Do-It-Yourself Approach - Simply creating the Organizing Plan of Action for the areas you want organized including your goals and vision, step-by-step assignments and instruction, organizing systems, and products to enhance your plan which is then implemented solely by the client by themselves or with friends and family.

Phase 4 - Follow-up and Evaluation

  • Once an organizing system is in place and the client has an opportunity to “test” the system, it is important to evaluate how the system is working. Within 30 days of completion of your project SolutionsForYou, Inc. will provide a complimentary 30-minute phone follow-up and evaluation session.
